well, the records of expenses:
yesterday: $10.10
today:$7.70
with the embarking of project break-free, i've got to scrimp on many stuffs. however, due to the benefits of good brudders and genki, i also ended up with good food. the great thing about working in a F&B industry.
was addicted to the anime "Beck", which was introduced by my cousin who was playing in a band. this anime really inspire people who play musical instruments in rock bands. my cousin therefore got herself a white guitar, same as the lead role is holding on too.
oh yeh, went to donate blood today at HSA with yanling, went there and had the usual procedures. however, everytime i go for such donation, though i know that it's painless, it's a whole new experience everytime i go. remember the first time at joo chiat CC when i finally got eligible to donate, having the sticker" please be kind to me, it's my first donation". duman high students from some clubs taking photos and giving it to us as a momento. it's definitely nerve-cracking experience, fearing of the pain of inserting a huge needle into your flesh, drawing out pints of blood. also got to know my blood type throught the first donation. second was at TP, got rejected because of the lack of idemity form, turned up the other day with the form and got to donate, this time round i was trying to act cool, taking shots of the procedures and talking more to the nurse asking them to pose when i filming the process. still remember that day was also the release of O level results and went to dine with someone special( oh well...).
third time was at HSA when yanling approached me to go. i steadily agreed and it was a mistake, it left me with horrible mental block of the professionalism of the staffs at HSA. it was all fine till i step into the donation site, a guy whose in plain formal clothes, not some with vest or tags indicating that they are the doctors. he approached me and was asking me to settle down while he will be attending to me. i thought to myself saying i'm under good care of a doctor.how naive. alright, here comes, a staff nurse was observing him as he performing the usual procedure of applying the antiseptic cream and marking of vessels. the moment the staff nurse said" sir, this should be done this way, if not......", i knew something was wrong. so, to kill the cat in me, i went up and asked more about him, then and then i got a revelation that he's not a doctor nor a nurse, he's a NS reservist who is in a combat medic, blood supply unit. man, he calmed me with words and asking me some questions to divert my thinking and doubt of his skills. he kept on asking me if i'm alright and everything's fine and stuffs. he seems to be more nervous than me though. i said to him it's alright to make some mistake for the first few times, everyone got to learn before he picks up the skill, he reply with the most amazing sentence" this is my 20th time." !! oh my, this isn't a joke or hoax, it's true, man, then my blood got clotted and i am not able to donate one full pack of blood. the gift gain from this kindess was a whole big patch of contusion wound on my arm.
so i swore to myself, being a samaritan for once is enough, i would reject all similar cases again. then i went there again to HSA, wanted to be attended by a senior staffs. to my delight, all on shift that day was all seniors, no inexperience looks from any of them. a tiny case of a 60+ yrs old nurse came to me, and helped me, kinda forgetful that what she had gave me and intending to give me again, the stress ball. this panic me again of not having an inexperience staff, but a muddling old lady. but it all ended good with another nurse and had everything done in a blink of the eye. after donation, got a t-shirt to reward donors for donating 3 times a year, also a 2008 organiser=) suddenly equipped with so may gifts=)
gonna work full for the next few days, i'm definitely gonna wear out, projects piling up for me to clear too. MAN!
