was quite pleased with myself for having the discipline to attend all the tutorials today and gave tutions to two of my students.
in the morning, with the weather so nice to hibernate and sleep, i was so reluctant to get up and get myself washed up and go to school. but, by the never-say-die will that i'm equipped with, i got up and leave my house at 9:05(lesson start at 9am though).
i just don't get it sometimes why do the taxi drivers does not want to pick up passengers like me when there's no existing customers in it. they will stare at you for a sec, and drove off as if they can't see you. "hello, i'm here, can't
you see me?". till this kind uncle who's willing to pick me up and sent me to school. good begots good. this is true. most of the time when the fare is 10 to 50 cents change, i would ask them to keep the change(not that i'm rich, but if u're able to pay this few more cents, the drivers in a sense will take it as an appreciation or tips.) and today, for the first time, the uncle reciprocate instead, he must have taken many passengers like me.=)
back to school and had a tutorial with my groupmates and off i go taking a cab down to bedok for tuition.
the first student who is a sec4 next year, was fun to teach, mainly because he's also from UG, NPCC. shared alot and exchanged thoughts. gave some homework and tada, earned myself 30 bucks!
went to have a drink downstairs before walking to another student's house. this time round is a p6 kid. he is much jovial and talkative, but was playing with him and even ask him to buy things for me.haha what a teacher i am. well, enjoyed teaching those kids who have their own unique character for you, as a teacher to explore.
took another cab down back to school for a 4hrs straight lessons. was a little suffering but still managed to pass time. in total i've took 3 cabs today and already spent 14 just on cab itself.
called many of them for dinner at 8 but most had already eaten or not free. had to go down to Genki to fill my poor stomach. went there and have some food and talk to the staffs there, and this is where i heard one of the most insane rule they had just implemented as a management. usually, we would be sitting down at the counter table for resting when we normally come early to work or to have our meal before the commencement of work. however, today a rule was set saying no eating and sitting on those tables. come on, where do the management want us to eat, squat down at one corner of the kitchen and eat? or move to the backdoor where the trash is and enjoy the wonderful ambience? it's all crap! another ridiculous rule was that if you're not working on that day, even if you're the staff there, you're not supposed to enter the restaurant! hey, for God's sake, staffs come because they had the sense of belonging in the restaurant and willing to render some help for free. by implementing this rule, we will be seeing each other lesser and definitely, our rapport as a team would dropped! please, as a management, use a little of your brain cells to think.
best part is still slacking with the people and chat and have fun together. i just love to sit down and chat, or even just enjoying the moment of doing nothing, armed with drinks=)
